How to choose the best Rainbow Six Siege settings for your ZOWIE monitor

Rainbow Six is one of the most strategic FPS games in the esports scene. With all the unique options for barriers, breaching methods, and traps, it can often be a challenge to react to your opponent (and their hidden gear) until it’s too late. That’s why it’s so important to not only have the proper monitor, but also fully utilize its features to give you a tactile advantage. For example, although ZOWIE monitors were originally designed to address the needs of professional Counter-Strike players, the enhanced clarity and visual benefits can have a direct impact on Rainbow Six Siege gameplay, if properly utilized. While there is no one best setting for Rainbow Six Siege due to personal preference, you can apply this guide to make the most out of your monitor and find the best settings for your needs:
Refresh Rate
For the smoothest experience, you will want to run Rainbow Six Siege at the highest refresh rate possible on your monitor. However, to ensure that your gameplay runs as intended, you will need your average FPS in-game to be at least the same as your refresh rate. If you are unable to achieve this, we recommend lowering your graphic settings, so there is less strain on your GPU. In addition, Rainbow Six is unique in that it gives two options for launching your game. The new Vulkan API may also help lessen the strain on your PC and you can set a target FPS through the graphics options to help automatically adjust the rendering resolution. Lastly, make sure your monitor is set to the right refresh rate through both your windows settings and the display menu in Rainbow Six.
Color Vibrance
In FPS games, the person who has the quickest reaction time will often be the winner. While this still true for Siege, the added element of gadgets brings in a whole new dimension of awareness to gameplay. For example, as a defender, not only do you have to react quickly to breaches, but also be aware of enemy surveillance at all times. If just one drone manages to sneak its way into your well prepared defenses and camouflage itself, the attackers can know where your team is and the traps you have prepared for them.

Color Vibrance helps with these issues, by making both enemies and their tools “pop-out” from the surrounding environment. This not only gives you a potential advantage when searching for drones, but can also help with your reaction time by making enemies more distinct and easier to process for your eyes. This same logic also applies to when you are on the attacking team. Traps, murderholes, and enemies are hiding in every corner. By raising the Color Vibrance level, you can give yourself the best chance of reacting before the enemy is able to react to you.

To adjust Color Vibrance, go to your settings menu > Game Settings > Color Vibrance and choose a setting between 0-20. We recommend starting at 10 and raising the level until you find a balance that works for you.
Black eQualizer
Due to the beginning of each round starting with an insertion phase, Siege brings a unique challenge to finding the right settings for both the interior and external areas of the map. As an attacker, you can often find yourself breaching an entrance, only to be surprised by an enemy hiding in the shadows of the building.

While brightness and contrast settings can be turned up to help spot the hidden threat, this will often lead to the outside areas of the map being overexposed, reducing your vision outdoors and making it more difficult for your eyes to adjust once you get inside. Instead, by adjusting the Black eQualizer level, you can balance the darker and lighter sections, optimizing visual clarity throughout the entire map.

Black eQualizer can be adjusted from 0-20, with 20 providing the highest level of equalization possible. You can choose your preferred level by navigating to your settings menu > Game Settings > Black eQualizer.

Dynamic Accuracy
Even if you are able to react to your enemies quicker, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll outgun them. Instead, you need to make sure that your shots are precise and on target. Dynamic Accuracy can help with this by making movement smoother and reducing the impact of vigorous motion, such as weapon spray recoil.

In particular, from professional R6 player feedback, we have found that the enhanced clarity allowed easier tracking of crosshairs, bullet holes, and tracers; leading to better aim control and spread shooting (even when using weapon attachments designed to reduce shaking).

DyAc comes in three levels in the Game Settings menu: Premium, High, and Off. We recommend running through some practice maps until you find the level that suits you best.
Anti-Aliasing
To help see opponents’ outlines clearer, you may be tempted to enable anti-aliasing. However, this drains additional resources from your GPU’s computing power and can result in lower FPS and, as a result, reaction times. Instead, you can get the same effect, without performance loss, by adjusting the sharpness level on your monitor. While it is not necessary to max this setting, we recommend that you adjust the sharpness level until you find a balance that is ideal for you. You can locate this setting by opening your settings menu > Picture > Sharpness.
Saving your Profile
Lastly, after you adjust your settings, we recommend that you save them to your S-Switch so that you can always have them handy at the push of a button. If you have the K series, you can also use our Quick Share feature to create a downloadable file for easy sharing and setup at tournaments.
